Title Insurance / Premium Overcharge Investigation
FW is currently prosecuting class action lawsuits against title insurance companies – such as Transnation, First American Title, Fidelity and Lawyer’s Title – for allegedly charging excessive premiums. Although title insurance companies are required by law to impose predetermined premium rates for title insurance policies, they routinely charge customers well in excess of these rates, the suit alleges.
FW is currently investigating or litigation proposed class action lawsuits against the following title insurance companies: Transnation, First American, Fidelity, Lawyers Title, Chicago Title, Stewart Title, Commonwealth Title and Ticor Title.
